Dingle Pubs.

Visit one of our World Famous Pubs
"A good puzzle would be to cross Ireland without passing a pub," James Joyce wrote in Ulysses. The same could be said for Dingle which is a town blessed with fantastic pubs.

Music has always been a tradition, even a religion, with the Irish.  And when you visit a Dingle Pub you will see why. At night, the town bounces to traditional music sessions entertaining locals and tourists alike. Turf fires, great seafood, and of course the famous porter, create an atmosphere to savour and nights not to be missed.

We've put together a list of our favourite pubs and restaurants in Dingle.

Louis Mulcahy Pottery
Located in Ballyferriter, the Louis Mulcahy pottery workshop is an absolute must see while in the region. An extremely successful home-grown venture producing some of the finest pottery in Ireland, the Clogher workshop not only offers the chance to browse and purchase this beautiful pottery, but also the opportunity to try your hand at throwing the pot for free.

During most of the day, there’s a potter on hand to give you tips. There are two potter’s wheels, you just put on a protective apron, dip you hand in a bowl of water and, operating the spinning surface in front of you with your feet, toss a lump of clay in the middle and try to make it into something vaguely symmetrical.

It’s free and you get to keep your creation as well. If you wish to have it fired in the kiln it’s €15 and they’ll ship the finished product to you for €10.

Blasket Island.

Visit The Great Blasket Islands
The most westerly lands in Europe are a unique group of islands off the coast of Kerry known as “The Blaskets”. The name “Blasket” is a mystery and nobody knows how or why the group of Islands came to be known as “The Blaskets”. One suggestion is that it originates from the Norse word 'brasker' which means 'a dangerous place'.

Although first thought to be inhabited over a thousand years ago by a monastic settlement the earliest written record of the Blasket Islands was recently discovered in an archive in Samancas, Spain. The document records people living on the Great Blasket Island as far back as 1597. The ship’s captain who left the document refers to the islands as 'Yslas de Blasques' and incredibly he also states that the inhabitants spoke fluent Spanish.
